Barefoot she walks her hair falls from a bun
The salty air blows her a kiss
Feeling the sand she can’t help but to run
As she knows no place freer than this

She gathered some will, wood, and found the energy
For a life waiting to be built
But in with every nail went a memory
Until her hammer fell still

She set out in the morning on the boat she named shore
On the back of a high tide she rode
The water sent waves of goodbye to the land
And deep down she knew it was home

But as the night broke she’d sit up and say
Am I moving on, or running away?

When she couldn’t sleep she would lay down outside
Cause inside she was crying, she was crying inside
Cleansed with fresh air she made up her mind
And that’s what they say sunk the ship
